March 2017 Featured Event: Orlando Jazz Festival
Our pick for Greater Orlando’s top event in March
WHETHER YOU TAKE YOUR JAZZ SMOOTH, or with some funk and soul, the Orlando Jazz Festival has you covered when it returns on March 10-11 with live performances by some of the world’s top names in jazz.
This year’s entertainment is scheduled to include: Mark Antoine, Alex Bugnon, Ken Ford, Jazmin Ghent, Hapco Music Foundation, Everette Harp, Boney James, Jacqueline Jones, Sisaundra Lewis, Michael Lington, Chuck Loeb, Jeff Lorber, Maysa, Marion Meadows, Najee, David Sanborn, Ben Tankard, Paul Taylor and Kyle Turner. The jazz super-group BWB, comprised of Rick Braun and Grammy winners Norman Brown and Kirk Whalum, will also perform, and radio personality/comedian Jay Anthony Brown will emcee.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from several on-site vendors. In addition, attendees are welcome to bring blankets or low-backed chairs for first-come, first served lawn seating. However, no tents, chair roofs, umbrellas or other shade structures are allowed. The event also has a clear-bag policy that limits the size and type of bags that can be brought to the plaza. Visit OrlandoJazzFest.com/What-To-Bring for more information.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Parking is available at one of the many garages and lots around downtown Orlando. For help finding the closest and least expensive parking near the festival, check out the free Orlando parkIN’ app, or visit DowntownOrlando.com/Getting-Around/Parking.
