In the past, doctors recommended that children take a break from ADHD medication after school, on weekends, and during the summer. The latest recommendation is that ADHD medication should be taken year round to get the greatest benefit. Why the change of counsel? Continuing medication outside of the school year can be helpful for the social learning of children and teens. Additionally, it may help reduce impulsive and dangerous behaviors including cigarette smoking and substance use. CNS Healthcare is conducting a clinical trial of a new ADHD medication for children and teens. It's free, even for those without health insurance and they offer compensation for time and travel.
