Restaurant news from throughout Greater Orlando

Five months after hiring Chef de Cuisine Scott Pizzo, formerly of Cask & Larder, Highball & Harvest in The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, has unveiled its new menu, which relies heavily on ingredients from local growers and the resort’s on-site farm. Previously, Pizzo also worked at Norman’s, The Ravenous Pig and other top local eateries.

As part of a plan to revamp Grand Avenue in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the area will be getting a new pub, Baseline Tap House. While no opening date has been set, Baseline will feature wines, beers and ciders from California, as well as a pub-food menu and non-alcoholic beverages.

The restaurant formerly known as Julie’s Waterfront, which originally opened in 1988, has relaunched with a revamped look, menu and name: The Waterfront. Headed by Pat Kennedy and Executive Chef Matt Wall, formerly of North Quarter Tavern, the eatery features gourmet, bar-friendly fare.

Ivanhoe Village’s M Lounge has gained a sister pub, M Bar, that aims for a different atmosphere from the rooftop original. In other Ivanhoe Village news, former Beach City Brewing owner Glenn Closson has announced plans to open Ivanhoe Brewing, with a targeted debut of April 2018.

Stefan Riemer and Olivier Saintemarie, who are pastry chefs at Walt Disney World, have been named to Dessert Professional’s list of top-10 pastry chefs for 2017. Riemer serves on Disney’s culinary development team, while Saintemarie heads up Epcot’s French pavilion during the annual International Food & Wine Festival.
