Titanic: The Experience

Titanic sets sail again for its 100th Year Voyage!  Step aboard the most famous, exquisite ship in history and experience the voyage of a lifetime.

Titanic: The Experience, located on International Drive in Orlando, is a first class attraction acquired by RMS Titanic, Inc. in 2011 and completely redesigned in January 2012. The exhibit features 10 full-scale room re-creations with over 400 unique pieces of memorabilia and 100 new artifacts recovered from Titanic’s wreckage site, including: “Little Big Piece,”  a three-ton section of Titanic’s hull and the second largest piece of the ship that has ever been recovered.

Titanic comes to life during the hour-long guided tours of the interactive museum. Each tour is led by professionally trained actors and historians dressed in period costumes to portray famous notables who sailed on Titanic, such as: American socialite Margaret “Molly” Brown, the most famous survivor of Titanic, and shipbuilder Mr. Thomas Andrews.

During the tour, you get the chance to walk through full-scale replicas of Titanic’s Grand Staircase, a First Class Parlor Suite, the Verandah Café, the Boiler Room, Captain’s Bridge, and the haunting Promenade Deck, where you can feel the icy air blowing from the Atlantic Ocean as you look out into the abyss of the starry night sky above and dark waters below.

Each of the 10 gallery rooms offers a different in-depth look of the ship and gives you a sense of what it must have been like a hundred years ago, as you re-live the sights, sounds, and emotions of all who sailed on that fateful voyage.

On display are several priceless pieces from the doomed ship, including one of the three engine room telegraphs, a window frame from a first class cabin, and personal belongings from passengers and the crew.

At the end of every tour, each visitor gets the chance to touch a real iceberg and feel the temperature of the air the night Titanic sank. The air was 38 degrees and the water a teeth chattering 28 degrees. Most of the passengers and crew likely died from hypothermia that night.

Every visitor at Titanic: The Experience receives a White Star Line Boarding Pass and is assigned the name and story of an actual passenger who was on Titanic. When the tour ends, you find out if your passenger survived or perished. Also, the staff at Titanic: The Experience highly encourages guests to research their passenger’s story on the Internet.

Titanic: The Experience is a world-class attraction that appeals to all ages while providing an exclusive experience that brings the wonder and heart-breaking tragedy of Titanic to life.
