Ready for a family event that combines adventure, competition, fitness, and a whole lot of fun? How about turning your brood into fearless Scottish Warriors (Highlanders) and have them compete in the Highlander III Adventure Obstacle Course Run?

Let’s make something clear… Highlander III is not for wimps! The Rock On Adventures competition for adults offers a 3 or 6 mile option of running through woods, mud,  water, and pastures, while conquering walls, ropes, slides, trails, tires, sandbags, angle walls, burlap bags, barbed wire, nets, wood, plastic, swings, telephone poles, hay, over and under, spider webs, tunnels, and so much more! You will soon be thinking: “What have I gotten myself into?  It is the craziest and most daring off-road adventure obstacle mud run that you will ever do! The obstacles will be very challenging, but fun and safe.

The kids will have their own race, a ¾ mile course, called “The Wee Highlanders.” In addition to getting to navigate over obstacles and mud, each Wee Highlander will get a custom-designed Highlander 3 Tultex shirt and Finisher Medal.  Their obstacles will be kid-sized, safe and fun, for ages 5 through 11. Parents can run the entire course with their kids…it’s worth it just to see their smiling faces. If your children plan to compete in the Wee Highlander, be sure to pack extra clothes and shoes as they will likely be muddy.

Everyone is encouraged to dress in costume, as there will be a “Best Costume Award.” Live Celtic performances by The Craic Show (a Scottish themed show) will set a Gaelic mood, plus Daniel O’Ryan entertains on the Bagpipes, not to mention a DJ playing top music all day long. All awards, T-shirts, and finisher medals will be Highlander themed.

The “famous” Orlando Food Truck Bazaar will be serving their wide assortment of delectable concoctions guaranteed to leave the hungriest Highlander satisfied, as well as cold beverages and cold beer brewed by the only local beer brewery in Lake County.

Happy, smiling faces…covered with mud, soaking wet, and satisfied is how participants should be feeling when it’s time to go home. Bring the whole family and plan to spend the entire day enjoying food, music, entertainment, activities, and the exciting competitions.

The cost to participate in the kid’s race is $24.00. Entry for the adult 3-miler is now $67.00, and $78 for the adult 6-miler.
