Butterfly Valentine Cards

What would a holiday be without a themed craft? Since Valentine’s Day is about spreading the love, encourage your child to offer sweet sentiments with homemade cards. These lollipop butterflies will make hearts flutter thanks to fun-loving flair, color patterns, glitter, and personalized drawings by your budding artist.

Materials

  • Printer
  • Colored card-stock (pink, red, purple, white, etc.)
  • Wiggly eyes
  • Red/white/pink lollipops
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Glitter/markers/crayons, if desired for decorating

 

Directions

  1. Download “Butterfly Valentine” template from SkipToMyLou.org.
  2. Print on colored card-stock. Pink or red are the best choice, but you can also use a variety of other colors if your child desires.
  3. Cut out the butterfly; make slits for lollipop.
  4. Add some decorations. For example, cut out shapes of paper, stickers, glitter, etc.; secure with glue if needed.
  5. Insert lollipop; add wiggly eyes to the top of the lollipop.
  6. Add a piece of tape to the back of the lollipop stick to securely hold in place.
