New Kids on the Block Encourage Fans to #GoCommando at Orlando Concert

I admit (and without embarrassment): I’m still a BIG fan of New Kids on the Block (NKOTB). Listening to their pop songs, like 1988’s “Hangin’ Tough” and 1990’s “Step By Step,” bring me back to my boy-crazy adolescent days. Since the band began touring again after their 15 year hiatus, my gal pals and I have attended every Orlando show (four and counting). Yes, it’s somewhat silly but, our ultimate bi-annual ladies night out is always a blast filled with laughter and extra cardio (in the form of old school dance moves).

This weekend’s concert was no exception, with Nelly and TLC also performing during “The Main Event” on June 5th at the Amway Center. We belted out every word to “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “Cover Girl,” and “I’ll Be Loving You,” along with their newer tunes. And while these shows always create great memories, this year I got to participate in a meet-and-greet with all five guys! Reflecting back to when I once day-dreamed of having my first kiss be with Donnie or marrying Joey, I can’t help but laugh that our actual real-life encounter included rubs on my growing baby bump and chatter about which NKOTB songs could be used as lullabies!

For this tour, toilet paper maker Cottonelle and New Kids on the Block teamed up to “clean up” the concert scene and convince fans to “Go Cottonelle, Go Commando.” Why? Well, as a multi-platinum, chart-topping group, NKOTB are no strangers to having underwear thrown on stage! Cottonelle says the act of going commando is a signal that a person feels clean enough – and confident enough – to remove the layer that covers their most delicate parts.

“We know our fans like to have fun at our concerts — and what’s more fun than going commando? That’s why we’ve partnered with Cottonelle,” said NKOTB’s Danny Wood.  Did you attend the NKOTB concert? Did you #GoCommando?
