  • A Guy Fieri creation at the redesigned Planet Hollywood Observatory

    The reimagined Planet Hollywood Observatory was set to open at Disney Springs at the end of January. In addition to a redesigned interior with four stories of space-age design and unique Hollywood memorabilia, the eatery’s menu will feature several dishes created by celebrity chef Guy Fieri.

  • Stefano LaCommare, the Orlando restauranteur behind Il Pescatore and Stefano’s Trattoria, has with his wife, Marie, and son, Leonardo, opened Nonno’s Ristorante Italiano in Altamonte Springs. The family concept specializes in authentic Sicilian cuisine.
  • The owners of Teak Neighborhood Grill, which is located in Metro West, have announced plans to open a second location in the Village at Lake Lily in Maitland. Like the original, the new spot will focus on gourmet pub food, an extensive beer menu, and weekend brunch with a Bloody Mary bar.
  • In December, four additional restaurants at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom began serving wine and beer, including Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, Liberty Tree Tavern, Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen and Cinderella’s Royal Table, which join Be Our Guest. The adult beverages are only available with meals.
  • 1921 by Norman Van Aken, the acclaimed, James Beard-winning chef’s Mount Dora restaurant, is now offering family-style “Sunday Suppers” for two or four guests. Selections vary weekly, and quantities are limited, so reservations are recommended for those wanting to try Van Aken’s creations as a group.
