Fifteen years ago, Bob Denis had a vision to create a destination where families could connect with one another while making lasting memories. In an area with no shortage of attractions, his Stanley Pond Adventure Farm continues to stand out in a crowd thanks to his dedicated vision: “If you keep young families playing together, there’s a better chance of them staying together.”

Affectionately known as “Sunflower Bob” around the farm, Bob was intentional in creating a place where parents and their children could interact with one another in a fun and inviting environment. “We have this beautiful place and we want to share it with groups of young families,” he says.

Located in Astatula, Stanley Pond Adventure Farm is an impressive 23-acre facility home to various fun-filled outdoor activities, all for the singular price of admission. Guests can pick their own sunflowers, ride around the track on a tricycle, take a plunge down the super slide or perhaps get wet over at the splash pad. There are also several other reasons to spend the day at the farm, including fishing in one of the two fully stocked ponds on site, no license required.

For Bob, all the beauty and magic that the farm has to offer is a gift from above.

“To whom God gives a lot, he expects a lot. He has given us this beautiful farm and he doesn’t expect us to just sit on that ourselves, it’s got to be shared. That’s why he gave it to us,” he says.

With that in mind, it’s no wonder why Stanley Pond has become a preferred place to host birthday parties. Not only are there countless ways to keep guests of all ages entertained, but it’s also a far cry from the run-of-the-mill experiences to be had at the larger chain venues where time constraints can add to the pressure to throw the perfect party.

“If a family comes in for a party, they don’t have to be out in an hour [to make room for the next group],” says Bob. “They get to stay all day and play with their family. We don’t overbook. … Our goal is to have family entertainment, extend the enjoyment and not be rushed.”

In addition to birthday parties, the farm is also a popular location for corporate events, school field trips and photography sessions where the sunflowers grown year-round make for the perfect backdrop for engagement photos, senior class portraits, maternity pictures and other candid moments.
