Cuban Sandwich from 4Rivers Smokehouse

While places like Texas, the Carolinas or Kansas City may immediately come to mind when thinking of world-class barbecue food, the fact is there are also some pretty dynamite spots found right here in Central Florida. Grab some extra napkins and check out these 10 mouthwatering options that are sure to satisfy.

Brisork Sandwich at Briskets BBQ Shack and Grill
This mammoth of a sandwich combines heaping piles of pulled pork and brisket along with a silky homemade smoked cheese sauce, pickles and jalapeños; all of which is somehow stuffed between two buns.

Cuban Sandwich at 4Rivers Smokehouse
The folks at 4Rivers put their own spin on the traditional Cuban with a blend of smoked pork and ham outfitted with mustard, mojo, pickles, onion rings, provolone and a signature barbecue sauce that complements everything perfectly.

Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Smokemade Meats + Eats
Inspired by Central Texas-style barbecue, owner and pitmaster Tyler Brunache has elevated the local food scene with offerings like this sausage made with a house blend of pork and beef, filled with a fiery cheese sauce, then cold smoked for four hours before being hot smoked for an 60 minutes.

Brisket Chili at Papa Diesel’s BBQ
Looking for some good comfort food? Do yourself a favor and grab a bowl of this hearty chili that bursts with flavor thanks to a medley of smoked brisket, corn and beans, and comes topped with cheddar cheese, cilantro and scallions.

Mr. Smokey at Yellow Dog Eats
This place is revered by locals and for good reason, especially when you consider standouts like this handheld packed with pulled pork, smoked pineapple slices, fried onions, pecan-smoked bacon and, of course, barbecue sauce.

Oakwood Smoked Ribs Bento Box at Pig Floyd’s
You can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches or tacos at this popular Mills 50 haunt, but we remain partial to this bento box featuring compartmentalized sections of succulent ribs, jasmine rice and Cuban black beans, mixed green salad, vegetable dumplings and honey Sriracha.

Rib Sandwich at Keller’s
The ribs at Keller’s are basted with a secret sauce and smoked over hand-selected oak logs, resulting in a distinctive bite with that smoky aroma and taste. Good enough on their own, the ribs are only enhanced when slid in between two slices of garlic bread.

Pork Belly Burnt Ends at Mohawk Smokehouse
The husband-and-wife team behind this wildly popular pop-up have gained a dedicated following who travel across the region to sink their teeth into creations like these smoky, sticky cubes of tender pork belly that melt in your mouth.

Brown Butter Turkey Breast BBQ Bowl at Smoke and Donuts
Slices of oak-smoked turkey breast are placed atop your choice of romaine lettuce or ginger-lime rice along with a cranberry-mango compote, a tangy yellow-mustard barbecue sauce and the option to add a fried egg for good measure.

Smoked Wings at Cecil’s Texas Style Bar-B-Q
These delectable wings are slowly smoked to lock in depths of flavor before they are gently fried to obtain that delicious crispy skin and then tossed in any number of sauces from Buffalo and barbecue to sweet citrus or mango habanero.
