The 10 Spot: Tacos

Black Rooster Taqueria’s Achiote Pork
It doesn’t have to be a Tuesday for us to crave some delicious tacos, and thankfully there are plenty of great options to be found across the Orlando area. From traditional offerings to more exotic choices, these are our current favorites.
Southern Comfort at Cocina 214
A taco with a little southern charm, this menu highlight features fried chicken and slaw stuffed into corn tortillas along with roasted corn, red onion, cilantro, cotija cheese and drizzles of a jalapeño-cilantro dressing.
Macha Shrimp at Rocco’s Tacos
This taco blends crispy shrimp with shaved cabbage, avocado, pico de gallo and sesame seeds, but the star of the show is undeniably the peanut salsa macha. Crunchy with a bit of a kick, it elevates the other ingredients to another level.
Notorious PIG at Tin and Taco
Like the famous hip-hop artist who inspired the name, this taco commands attention. Smoked pulled pork and craft beer queso are a match made in heaven and rounded out with lettuce, cotija cheese, “boom” sauce and red salsa.
Sinaloan Fish at Reyes Mezcaleria
These fish tacos are far from run-of-the-mill, featuring snapper that is beer battered and then fried before being slid into a tortilla with marinated cabbage, red onion and finishing touches of chipotle aioli.
Achiote Pork at Black Rooster Taqueria
Lately we’ve been obsessed with this mouthwatering option consisting of pork shoulder that has been slow-roasted in a banana leaf for added depths of flavor and served with pickled red onion, cilantro and a fiery habanero salsa.
Roasted Cauliflower at Agave Azul
Roasted until golden and crispy, the cauliflower in this taco would be addictive on its own. But the additions of a smoky pineapple guajillo, tomatillo pico de gallo and avocado salsa only further enhance each bite.
El Mananero at Hunger Street
It’s hard to narrow down the tantalizing choices at Hunger Street, but we’re partial to this stellar number featuring a mix of oh-so tender confit brisket, spiced chorizo, refried black beans, scrambled eggs, cheese and avocado salsa.
Godfather at Tako Cheena
The inventive Asian-inspired tacos at this mainstay are always enticing, especially this one made with breaded cod, fresh cabbage, scallions, and a combination of the signature Tako aioli along with a house-made sweet and sour sauce.
Chicken Tinga at Bartaco
Tender, juicy pulled dark meat gets a punch courtesy of a piquant sauce made from smoked morita chili peppers, resulting in a savory, spicy taco that bursts at the seams with flavor.
Chorizo, Bacon and Sweet Potato at Solita
The spice from the sausage harmonizes perfectly with the saltiness of the bacon and richness of the sweet potato, while the additions of silky sweet caramelized onions make a dynamite taco even more delectable.
